Terms and Conditions

These terms govern access to LexLINQ, a legal technology and information platform operated by Lexlinq Pty Ltd.

Last updated: 5 August 2026

By creating an account, starting a trial, purchasing a subscription or Prepaid Credits, or using LexLINQ, you agree to these terms. If you use LexLINQ for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation.

1. Who may use LexLINQ

You must be at least 18 years old, capable of entering a binding agreement, and authorised to act for any organisation associated with your account. LexLINQ is intended principally for legal professionals and authorised business users.

You must provide accurate account and billing information and keep it current.

2. Technology and information—not legal services

LexLINQ provides legal technology and information tools only. Lexlinq Pty Ltd is not engaged by you as a solicitor, does not provide legal advice or legal representation, does not accept legal instructions, and does not establish a solicitor–client relationship through the service.

LexLINQ does not replace a qualified legal professional. You remain responsible for professional judgment, client service, supervision, legal advice, filings, transactions, decisions, and final work product.

3. Accounts and authorised access

  • Keep account credentials confidential and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorised access.
  • Do not share an individual account except where the product expressly permits authorised team access.
  • You are responsible for activity performed through your account except to the extent caused by our breach of law or these terms.
  • Administrators are responsible for managing their organisation’s users and permissions.

4. Customer Content and authority

Customer Content includes documents, prompts, matter information, templates, instructions, messages, and other material submitted through an account. As between you and LexLINQ, you retain your rights in Customer Content.

You grant LexLINQ and its service providers a limited licence to host, copy, transmit, index, analyse, transform, and otherwise process Customer Content only as reasonably required to operate, secure, support, and improve the service in accordance with these terms and the Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you have all permissions and lawful authority needed to submit and process Customer Content. You must assess confidentiality, legal professional privilege, privacy, contractual restrictions, court orders, and client instructions before upload.

5. AI-assisted outputs

AI-assisted outputs are probabilistic and may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, inconsistent, or fabricated. They may misstate facts, dates, quotations, authorities, pinpoints, legal tests, document contents, or calculations.

You must independently check material outputs against original documents, current authoritative sources, the complete factual record, and applicable professional obligations before use. Linked citations and generated explanations are verification aids, not guarantees.

You must comply with applicable court and tribunal practice directions, professional conduct obligations, disclosure requirements, and organisational AI policies.

6. Acceptable use

  • Use LexLINQ only for lawful and authorised purposes.
  • Do not attempt to access another user’s or customer’s matters, documents, prompts, outputs, accounts, or system information.
  • Do not use prompt injection, malicious documents, automated attacks, credential abuse, scraping, reverse engineering, or other methods to bypass safeguards, usage limits, or access controls.
  • Do not upload malware, unlawfully obtained material, or content that infringes rights or breaches confidentiality, privacy, privilege, a court order, or a contractual duty.
  • Do not impersonate a legal practitioner, falsely advertise entitlement to engage in legal practice, or represent that LexLINQ has supplied legal advice.
  • Do not use an output as the sole basis for a binding high-impact decision affecting another person’s rights, employment, credit, eligibility, access, or legal position.

7. Free trial and monthly subscriptions

The current free trial lasts 30 days, does not require a payment method, and does not automatically convert into a paid subscription. Trial limits and daily trial credits are shown in the product.

Essential and Professional are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until cancelled. Business prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST, which is added at checkout and shown on invoices.

For eligible new subscriptions, Essential is $29 + GST for each of the first 6 paid monthly billing periods and then $60 + GST per month. Professional is $59 + GST for each of the first 6 paid monthly billing periods and then $120 + GST per month. The order or checkout confirmation controls if it differs from general website copy. Team plans are subject to a custom agreement.

You may cancel through the Billing page. Cancellation prevents the next subscription renewal. Except where required by law, cancelling does not retrospectively refund a completed charge; the Billing page shows the status of remaining access and credits.

8. Upgrades and downgrades

An upgrade takes effect immediately. The account receives additional Subscription Credits calculated as the difference between the new and old plan’s monthly credit allocation multiplied by the proportion of the current billing period remaining. The new recurring subscription price starts at the next billing period.

A downgrade is scheduled for the next billing period. It does not reduce the Subscription Credits already available for the current period. At renewal, the lower plan’s price and monthly credit allocation apply.

9. Usage Credits

  • Subscription Credits are included with a paid plan and reset when the monthly subscription renews. Unused Subscription Credits do not carry into a later paid period.
  • Prepaid Credits may be purchased separately at $0.30 + GST per credit in the available packages. They remain available through subscription renewals and are not cleared when monthly Subscription Credits reset.
  • When a feature uses credits, Subscription Credits are consumed first and Prepaid Credits second.
  • A customer with an active account may purchase and use Prepaid Credits after cancelling a subscription, subject to feature availability and these terms.
  • Credits are usage units, have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are not refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by us.
  • The product displays the credit cost for relevant features. A failed eligible operation may be automatically refunded according to the service logic.

10. Payments, invoices, and saved payment methods

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. By supplying a payment method, you authorise the applicable charges, including GST, and agree to the provider’s payment terms.

LexLINQ issues invoices for subscription charges, renewals, eligible upgrades or other billable events, and Prepaid Credit purchases. A Prepaid Credit package appears as one invoice line item even though the package contains multiple credits.

Cancelling a subscription does not automatically remove a saved payment method. It may remain associated with the payment-provider customer record so you can purchase Prepaid Credits or subscribe again. Contact info@lexlinq.ai to request removal, subject to transaction records and legal retention requirements.

11. Intellectual property

LexLINQ, its software, design, documentation, trade marks, and service content are owned by Lexlinq Pty Ltd or its licensors. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is authorised.

AI outputs may resemble material generated for others and may not qualify for intellectual property protection. We do not guarantee that an output is unique, non-infringing, or suitable for registration or exclusive ownership. You are responsible for reviewing third-party rights before use.

12. Availability and changes

We may maintain, update, replace, limit, or discontinue features to improve the service, address security or legal risks, or respond to provider changes. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

We may update Usage Credit costs or plan features prospectively. Material subscription price changes will be communicated before they take effect, except for the clearly disclosed transition from an introductory price to the standard price.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address suspected unauthorised use, security threats, non-payment, unlawful content, material breach, or risk to users or the service. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy.

Account closure and data handling remain subject to the Privacy Policy, legal retention obligations, dispute preservation, and reasonable backup cycles.

14. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a consumer guarantee, right, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

Any statements about AI limitations, professional review, availability, or refunds operate subject to those non-excludable rights.

15. Changes, governing law, and contact

We may update these terms when the service, law, or commercial offer changes. The current version and update date will be published here. If a change materially affects an active paid subscription, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Courts with jurisdiction in Queensland may hear disputes, subject to any non-excludable rights concerning venue or jurisdiction.

Questions about these terms can be sent to info@lexlinq.ai or Lexlinq Pty Ltd, Brisbane Technology Park, 3 Clunies Ross Court, Eight Mile Plains QLD 4113, Australia.
